Vegan Friendly Beauty

Food is usually the first thing that comes to mind when people mention the word Vegan, but sadly the world of animal ingredients goes a lot further than this with all kinds of nasties being added to our health and beauty products too. From mink hair in our lash extensions, to crushed beetles in our nail varnish we really need to be clued up to make sure we are not consuming products that fit outside of our ethics and beliefs.

While the appalling practice of testing on animals is now fairly common knowledge, but definitely something to still be very vigilant of, complete cruelty free beauty is still a bit of a minefield. Thankfully as consumers become more aware of the darker side of beauty there are more and more brands that now clearly label their products as vegan and cruelty free, but we are still a long way from transparency.

As always knowledge is power, and it is with this in mind that we have put together a quick reference guide to non-vegan beauty so you can be aware of what to look out for and where you might find it.*

As a final note don’t forget Greener Beauty exists for vegans to take the worry out shopping for health and beauty products. All our products are cruelty free (including parent companies), natural and 100% vegan- no exceptions!

If you have any questions regarding this blog or about specific brands or products, please do get in contact as we are always happy to help.
