Robert Tisserand, the founder of Tisserand, developed a passion for aromatherapy thanks to his mother’s introduction to the subject. At the age of 17, he decided to share the benefits of essential oils with others, with the aim of improving their health and happiness. This led to the establishment of the Aromatic Oil Company in 1974, which initially operated from Robert’s bedroom in South London.

Despite financial struggles and discouragement, Robert persevered and personally hand-bottled the oils, labeled each bottle, and packed parcels to be dispatched to customers every Saturday morning. In 1977, after eight years of writing, Robert published his first book, “The Art of Aromatherapy,” where he delved into topics such as nature, life force, planets, and elements. In 1984, Aromatherapy Products Ltd was formed, allowing Robert to serve as an essential oil and formulations consultant utilizing his years of experience.

Today, Tisserand is renowned for their expertise in sourcing 100% natural, pure essential oils. They have assembled a team of experts based in the UK who carefully source, blend, and procure the highest quality oils from their offices in West Sussex.
