Our 2020 Review and Looking Ahead to 2021!

Hi lovelies,

A bit of an unusual blog from us this week. I am a big fan of goal setting, visualisations, and planning. This time of year between Christmas and New Year is the perfect time to think about what the last year has brought us and what we want to achieve next year. Especially this year it’s important to think about the positives and be grateful for what we have achieved despite this crazy Covid world.

LOOKING BACK OVER 2020

From a Greener Beauty point of view, despite such disruption to normal life due to Covid, it has been a really positive year. This is our 2nd/3rd year in business, so still a young business but with all your help we have achieved so much.

Since we started planting trees we have now planted an epic 4,347 trees! What an amazing achievement for the planet! This has been done through every single order placed, the advent calendars (which planted 10 trees for each one) and of course black Friday weekend where we planted 10 trees per order. Without each one of you we really could not have achieved this, so I hope you feel as proud about this as I do! Thank you.

We launched the charity donations at checkout in September 2019 so a year and a few months ago now. Since then we have managed to donate over a whopping one and a half thousand pounds. At a time where lots of charities have been struggling to go about their normal fundraising this will have no doubt made a huge difference to help them continue their important work. Thank you to everyone who has donated when placing an order, as you can see, even rounding up an order by a couple of pence over a period of time really does make a difference.

From a personal point of view, while living in this crazy world I have made some personal changes as the year has gone on and I am loving what they are doing for me. In April I made the decision to not drink alcohol and I am continuing this now. If you have met me you might be shocked to read this as in the past I was such a party girl, still am, just now with a glass of water instead of a prosecco!

I have also gotten into a really good routine with my Peloton workouts which I am loving and plan to continue into 2021. If you have been following Greener Beauty you will know that I love a bit of personal development having done some workshops with Tony Robbins and UK based soul alignment coach Gail Evans, while living in this covid world I have also delved further into this internal world.

I think its important to look back at 2020 and see the positivity that exists for all of us, whether its spending more time with your family or friends, being able to achieve a goal or project that you haven’t had time to work on in the past.

LOOKING FORWARD TO 2021

2021 brings with it hope and optimism for the future of what a new year will bring.

So what do you want from 2021?

As mentioned above I am a big fan of planning and goal setting and I am going to share with you some of our plans for the coming year.

The most exciting thing I would like to share with you is that we are planning on launching a subscription box. I know there are already a few already out there but this one (as I am sure most of you are expecting!) will have a Greener Beauty twist on it. If you want to sign up for a mailing list to the first to hear about this you can sign up here.

We have some other exciting new brands and gifts that we are going to be launching early next year but they are currently top secret so I can’t even share these with you! But as soon as I can you will be the first to hear!

I would love for Greener Beauty to reach over 10,000 trees planted in 2021. I would also really like to be able to increase our charity donations over the year.

From a personal point of view I am planning on continuing and ramping up my Peloton workouts and continue on my personal development journey. I have been blessed this year after working with Gail Evans for a number of years as a student to have been asked to be a team leader on her upcoming courses, helping more people to live in an aligned way and I am excited to be helping her out on her next Align course next month. (If you want to find out more about Gail and this amazing course you can do so here.

During 2020 I have been keeping a gratitude journal and meditating every day, although its easy to forget to do this when life is busy. I find that focusing on what is good in my life, even when life is hard, really helps me to keep a positive and happy life, so I am going to continue doing this into 2021 and work hard to not miss a day!

SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR A GREAT 2021

I am not the only one at Greener Beauty who loves planning and goal setting so we thought we would share the love and have created a free printable for you so you can think about what was good about 2020 and what goals you would like to achieve in 2021.

If you would like to do this click the link below to get the pdf and print it off. Find somewhere quiet where you can sit and do this without being disturbed. Alternatively, it can be good to do this with a friend or partner where you can share your goals and thoughts. For me this has led to some really lovely and fun chats looking back together (I would suggest filling in your own first and then chat together about what you have written).

We have really focused on the positives and what we have loved about 2020 and what we have achieved so go ahead and fill that in.

When it comes to thinking of your dream goal for 2021, think big! Visualise your perfect life. When it comes to the goal setting for the year, really think about what steps you will need to do to achieve that goal and break them down into as small steps as possible. For example, if you want to find a new job, the steps needed would be getting your CV up to date, putting your CV online and sending it to recruitment agents (or the dream company that you want to work for), maybe getting an appropriate outfit for the interview and interview prep. If I was applying for a job, I would also add visualising working my dream job!

Over the course of the year, I will look at this frequently to remind me of my goals and to do a mental check in with how I am getting on with them.

“Today is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want”

I hope that you have found that interesting, helpful and enjoyable to do! We are here if you have any questions as always.

Much love and here is to a fantastic 2021 where all our dreams come true.
