One of the favourite (and most important!) items in my makeup bag is a translucent powder. Whether I am just applying a small amount of makeup for the day or applying it with a spade for a night out, translucent powder applied over everything once its applied helps keep everything in place! No smudging eye liner, no eye shadow that just moves into the creases of your eye. It can even be applied over lipstick, but even that will not make it last through a few bottles of Prosecco! I have tried many times… 🍾🥂
I am currently using the Love the Planet Translucent Perfecting powder and its gorgeous. It goes on so smoothly and evenly and feels gorgeous. And it is even plastic free in this lovely compostable packaging. This is why it is this weeks product of the week!
I do not like sticking by the rules, if you know me you probably already know this about me!
So this weeks Product of the week is actually two products – The Friendly soap Conditioner bars, available in Lavender and Geranium and also Lavender and Tea Tree.
There is something really clever about these bars. They can either be used as a bar, either rubbing them between your hands before smoothing over your hair or by rubbing the bar directly on your hair. OR if you really do prefer a liquid conditioner these bars can be dissolved into 600ml of boiling water creating a liquid conditioner which can then be decanted into an old bottle.
A liquid conditioner without the plastic!
Who doesn’t love the idea of burning candles in the bedroom?
Nurture your romantic side with this beautifully fragranced aromatherapy candle that contains the essential oils of Ylang Ylang and Neroli.
Available in two sizes; small which burns for approximately 20 hours and large which burns for approximately 40 hours.
This is one of the products I tested when we initially started working with Ethically Organic and I have absolutely loved using it. One of the key ingredients is Baobab Oil which is also one of the reasons it feels so luxurious, nourishing and gorgeous on the skin. Baobab Oil is well know as helping to heal the skin from deep within and with anti inflammatory properties. Also with the addition of vitamin C which helps in the formation of collagen and as a powerful antioxidant. As the whole range is made without water a little goes a long way, which explains why my first jar of this lasted 7 months when using it once a day.
This Radiance Face soufflé really does help your skin feel radiant and who doesn’t want that at this time of year!
A styling product enriched with carrot oil for humans who like their fur messy!
When we were testing this product we got friends and family involved including Oli from Oliver Blackaby Hair who had the following to say about this hair mud:
“Love this product as its got a dry consistency but stays malleable throughout the day. It also doesn’t dry the hair out, its like nothing else out there on the market!”
High praise indeed!
And if that wasn’t good enough it is also plastic free!
Did you see Vic’s live about our new range of products from Scence? You can see the replay here
We loved testing this product range. Vic thinks the summer citrus body balm might be the best body cream she has ever used and Katie is in love with the cool rose face balm!
And to really top it off the packaging is recyclable and compostable!
If you have met me you will know that I love this organic range of products from Australia. They smell absolutely incredible and are so effective. As I have said before the Himalayan salt scrub is one of my favourite products that we sell, its so enjoyable to use and my skin feels so good after using it!
As a brand lots of their products continue to win awards year after year which just shows how amazing the products are. Among others they have won Natural Health International beauty awards, Janey Loves awards, Cosmo beauty awards, Green Parent Natural Beauty awards, the list goes on!
Personally though I do love a brand with a good inspirational and feel good story and Eco by Sonya is no exception.
Sonya Driver started Eco by Sonya after a marriage breakdown and her sister was diagnosed with melanoma. After having the cancerous growth removed both Sonya and her sister were desperate to still have a glowing tan without the UV rays. Initially they started having fake tans but on investigation found most contain harmful chemicals. As a result Sonya started to work on developing her own range of organic and natural tans using cacao, flower essence, chamomile and other natural organic ingredients.
This is the perfect time of year to be trying out the range of fake tans by Eco by Sonya, bring on the summer while we are still in the cold and grey months of winter.
Here at Greener Beauty we absolutely love independent ethical brands especially ones that stand for something strongly.
Cult Candy Cosmetics are just that!
They cater for everyone, whether it’s the wonderful and outlandish or the simpler side of makeup. Cult Candy believe fundamentally that it’s vital to meet the highest ethical standards across the board. Everyone should be aware that they need to make a contribution to our future, by being more aware of the environment. Cult Candy are not going to compromise their identity and integrity to fit in with what’s in fashion at the time, or what other brands are doing. They will always be about respect – respect for animals, for individuals and for the planet.
Just to cement this ethos at the end of last year they won an ASOS beauty award for most inclusive product.
A family owned business based in Cologne, Germany. All the products made are produced using natural, fairly traded and ethical ingredients.
Its one of the reasons we sell Fair Squared here at Greener Beauty, we love a company that has a strong ethical moral compass and isn’t afraid to shout about it!
The full range of products carry the Natrue logo and the PETA logo as well as being endorsed by the Vegan Society and are Halal certified (as they don’t contain alcohol).
The mooncup was the original medical grade silicon menstrual cup made back in 2002. This amazing British company wanted to make the eco friendly period easily achievable for everyone.
On average each woman will use 11,000 disposable sanitary products over a lifetime which equates to approx. £90 a year and around £1,200 over a lifetime.
If that wasn’t scary enough in Britain alone 1.5 billion tampons and sanitary towels are used and disposed of, many ending up in the sewer system.
Or instead of generating so much waste at such a cost to ourselves how about one Mooncup that will last years!

Greener Beauty Products of the week. Your Nature Lemon & May Chang Deodorant. Do you like sweet smelling fragrances? Want a natural deodorant but don’t want lavender or tea tree?
I haven’t used an aluminium based antiperspirant for years. However I also haven’t been able to use a plastic free deodorant as most of them contain bicarbonate of soda, which while safe for most people to use I have an allergic reaction!
