An Interview with Honey Bunny Lashes Founder Lia

It can be quite challenging to find vegan friendly lashes as so many of them are made from Mink hair. As soon as I heard about Honey Bunny Lashes I got a couple of styles in to test and immediately fell in love with the look that they gave without the mink hair or compromising on the quality. I have been wearing the two sets of lashes frequently ever since. They look fabulous and after many wears I am confident that they will continue to look fabulous for many wears!

Lia is the mastermind and glamourous owner behind the brand and it gives me great pleasure to introduce her on this weeks blog!

Enjoy!

TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU STARTED HONEY BUNNY LASHES

I have always loved lashes and had a collection of over 150 pairs of false eyelashes. All these brands started coming out specialising in mink lashes, and I wanted to bring people ‘mink’ lashes that  didn’t use animals or have animal tested glue, so I started HBL up as an alternative to real mink lashes

WHAT MAKES HONEY BUNNY LASHES SPECIAL?

We are a 100% vegan owned and operated business,  and our lashes are the closest thing to mink without being mink, they are really advanced and even our glue is non animal tested, we are currently going through the process of trying to get BUAV approval for everything.

WHAT DOES AN AVERAGE DAY RUNNING HONEY BUNNY LASHES LOOK LIKE?

First  thing in the  morning is on social media, posting (we are a bit quiet at the moment as we are working on an exciting rebrand behind the scenes) speaking with influencers, competition winners and answering customers queries.

Then we move on to emails and answer PR queries, customers, and all the other bits of correspondence. After that it’s packing up orders, sending out items to MUAs and people we are collaborating with, and at the moment tweaking things for our rebrand, which will include new lashes!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DAILY BEAUTY ROUTINE

Considering the industry I’m in it’s woefully simple! I wash my face in the morning with a flannel in warm water, then pat dry and use a shielding moisturiser with SPF in. Then makeup, everything is non animal  tested brands, I use a brow crayon, liquid eyeliner, a pair of HBL lashes, usually big ones, and some blush. Later I will remove my makeup with a reusable bamboo pad dipped in coconut oil. At the weekends I use a good cleanser and exfoliator on my skin and that’s about it!

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Well I have rescue animals so running around after them! I love walking, reading, watching horror films and documentaries, cooking, and since lockdown I have started Pilates and have picked my ukulele back up which I haven’t played for years.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE ON EARTH WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

Well  I want to go everywhere so that’s a hard one to answer, but as I was meant to spend my birthday in Bali and couldn’t because of lockdown, that would be the first one.

FAVOURITE FOOD?

Chips from the chip shop with lots of salt and vinegar on.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE THREE DREAM DINNER DATES WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Joaquin Phoenix, Brigitte Bardot, and my aunt who we sadly lost 10 years ago.

WHAT ALWAYS BRINGS A SMILE TO YOUR FACE?

My best friends, I’m very lucky to be surrounded with people who share my sense of humour.

IF YOU WERE A SUPERHERO WHAT POWERS WOULD YOU HAVE?

Invisibility! I could secretly rescue animals, get intelligence on what certain businesses do to animals, and sneak on to planes to travel for free.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?

I’m happy to say that I’ve got quite a few achievements so its hard to pick, but it’s probably still winning a national poetry competition when I was around 12 and then getting published in a book of young poets, it was my first real big achievement so I think it has always stuck with me!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR HONEY BUNNY LASHES?

To grow it and get it into shops. Social media makes everything look easy, but there is so much competition out there now as well as established brands, so its constant work to stay  visible and unique and get on the radar of suppliers and customers.
