An Interview with Camilla of Milly & Sissy

When I first heard of Milly & Sissy I was blown away by this innovative British brand and I just had to test some of the range. I quickly got it in and loved how simple yet how effective the range was. The fragrances are gorgeous and the products are incredibly effective.

This range of products of course is fully vegan, cruelty free and natural (or they wouldn’t be here!) but they are also plastic free, zero waste (the sachets are compostable), refillable and have a low carbon footprint (due to the lower carbon footprint of shipping these light refill sachets without the water!) An all round win! If you haven’t tried the range yet you absolutely should.

So it gives me great pleasure to introduce this weeks blog, an interview with Camilla of Milly & Sissy

Enjoy!

TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU STARTED MILLY  SISSY

My sister & I have always been passionate about animals and doing our bit for the environment and for a long time, searched for something to do as a business together.  Once we discovered these eco-friendly products, we knew it was the right thing for us to work on and so we created Milly & Sissy.

WHAT MAKES MILLY & SISSY SO UNIQUE?

I think the fact that our products really do tick so many of the eco-friendly boxes, does truly make our brand unique.  They represent leading innovation in their category.

WHAT DOES AN AVERAGE DAY RUNNING MILLY & SISSY LOOK LIKE?

We’re super lucky as we can both work from home.  My sister, Sissy, works at her farm house where our packing facility is, surrounded by her menagerie of animals and I work at my home in France surrounded by the countryside and my animals too.

WHAT MILLY & SISSY PRODUCT MAKES YOU MOST PROUD?

We’re proud of all the products we sell and the fact that everything we do is so closely aligned with our values and helping to reduce our impact on the environment.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DAILY BEAUTY ROUTINE

Oh dear, this is not very inspirational at all.

We both follow a very basic routine of cleaning our face with reusable pads and our hand wash (it’s so gentle we can even remove our makeup with it), then use a serum and moisturizer along with a tinted factor 50 moisturiser on top of that.

I then use eyeliner, mascara and a bit of lip gloss.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

I have three dogs that are all extremely needy so I love to sit on the lounge, cuddle them and watch Netflix. I also love walking at golden hour, listening to my favourite podcasts

ITEM OF MAKEUP THAT YOU COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT

Ooh I think I’d have to keep an eyeliner in dark brown;  Sis would keep her mascara.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE ON EARTH WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I would love to go to an eco-retreat based near the Amazon rainforest to admire all the wildlife and flora & fauna guided by a local conservationalist;  Sis said she’d come along with me (or stay at home!)

FAVOURITE FOOD?

We both love all vegan food but have a particular penchant for Asian flavours

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Walk the dogs, we’re both really enjoying gardening, I love socializing too but Sissy is more likely to spend time with her ponies & sheep, dogs & cats;

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE THREE DREAM DINNER DATES WOULD THEY BE?

Sis and I would both love to meet David Attenborough, Antonio Guterres & Marina Silva – that would make the dinner party of dreams and excellent conversation;  if we’re looking for less emphasis on the green side of things, it’d have to be Clive Owen (great eye candy) & Julien from the Yorkshire Vet (for Sissy)

WHAT ALWAYS BRINGS A SMILE TO YOUR FACE

Watching my dogs & cats play together, they’re hilarious & super cute at the same time.  Sis said pretty much the same: watching animals who are having a lovely time together.

IF YOU WERE A SUPERHERO WHAT POWERS WOULD YOU HAVE?

To remove any kind of cruelty towards animals or people from this Earth (we both said the same)

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Taking the plunge and setting up the business

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR MILLY & SISSY?

To retire to the eco-lodge in the Amazon?
