An Interview with Buddha Beauty Founder Llewelyn

I am so pleased to share our interview with Llewelyn from Buddha Beauty. I met Llewelyn with his partner Sam a few years ago at a vegan festival in Manchester and I was instantly taken back by his knowledge and passion for his incredible skincare range. Buddha Beauty Skincare is a multi award winning range of skincare and if you have tried it I am sure you will agree that it is easy to see why.

TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU STARTED BUDDHA BEAUTY

Buddha Beauty started out from an interest in products being used in the Far East. Whilst there I became interested in the blends used and decided I wanted to re-create my own range that was high quality and available for everyone to use.

WHAT MAKES BUDDHA BEAUTY SPECIAL?

Buddha beauty is a vegan founded company. Our hearts and ethics are aligned. Our range is is carefully created and unique in its blends. Our passion for animals follows our hearts and we actively support Withington hedgehog trust who are a small local charity that saved this endangered native species. We also fund raise to build sleep pods to donate to the homeless charities in the UK. By supporting us you also help support this worthwhile causes.

WHAT DOES AN AVERAGE DAY RUNNING BUDDHA BEAUTY LOOK LIKE?

Pre Covid our days are all go. We always start the day by printing off and picking orders. From lunch time it’s all making. As we make small batches there is always an item or two to make.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

I do believe we have to adapt our skincare routines to our own unique skins needs. For myself I use our White Grapefruit Cleansing Wash daily. I love it first thing in the morning it gets my skin feeling clean and fresh and really wakes me up. Then I apply our Rose Daily Defence Organic Co Enzyme Q10 Daily Moisturiser, rich hydrating and not too heavy on the skin. I’ve have never really had issues with acne and want to keep it that way. Sometime a face cream can be too heavy and block pours. Twice a week I will pamper with a face cream and mask combination. Usually in the bath when I’m relaxing down I apply these. It’s much easier to sit still and to remove.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

We have a very beautiful dog called Scylla and she’s the perfect excuse to get out and walk. She is 8 years old but like a puppy, always on the go and full of life. The only downside is she loves water / mud pools so we always need a towel at hand ready for dry off!

IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE ON EARTH WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

As I am ex-cabin crew I have been so lucky to visit so many countries over the 15 years but for me my heart is always in the Land of Smiles Thailand

FAVOURITE FOOD?

Anything vegan but my partner makes the most amazing roasted vegetable lasagne and his cheese sauce is incredible. It took him months of trial and error but now it’s perfect, stringy, and crispy (message me and I’ll send you the recipe!)

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE THREE DREAM DINNER DATES WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Oh this is an interesting one! I have always wanted to meet fellow welsh man Anthony Hopkins love his acting and most of his films are brilliant “Meet Joe Black” Being one of my favs. Following this Keanu Reeves as I keep seeing reports about him being the perfect gentleman and finally it has to be Jane Goodall how could you not want to sit and listen to her for hours. A beautiful soul and amazing woman.
