I first found the Natural Deodorant Company in 2019 as I was selfishly searching for a plastic free deodorant that would be good for my sensitive skin without any bicarbonate of soda. I remember trying the Gentle range and being over joyed at having a plastic free option, as at this point all plastic free deodorants contained this ingredient that would make my skin itch and be red raw! Ever since then they have been a favourite of mine and of yours too! Of our top 5 best selling deodorants at Greener Beauty, 3 of them are Natural Deodorant Co ones!

So it gives me great pleasure to introduce this weeks blog, an Interview with Brett, Founder of The Natural Deodorant Co. Find out how this innovative British company was started and which super power he wishes he had (which I would also quite like myself!)

TELL US ABOUT WHY YOU STARTED THE NATURAL DEODORANT Co

We started The Natural Deodorant Co. after making the decision to start buying more environmentally conscious products for our home and personal care routines, and unfortunately the natural deodorants on the market at the time were just not effective at all.

WHAT MAKES THE NATURAL DEODORANT CO SO UNIQUE?

We are the first natural deodorant to have three distinct formulas for different skin types and lifestyles – The Clean Deodorant Balm for everyday use, the Gentle Deodorant Cream for those with sensitive skins, and the Active Deodorant Balm for those who need their deodorant to go the extra mile.

Also, while there are others out there in this same format, it is fairly unique to still be offering our cream deodorants in a jar, as opposed to turning it into a stick/roll-on. For us, this improves application coverage, and also ensures that connection with your body that you would otherwise lose when applying from a distance, which we feel is important.

WHAT DOES AN AVERAGE DAY RUNNING THE NATURAL DEODORANT CO LOOK LIKE?

I primarily deal with the operation of the warehouse and logistics, however as any business owner will tell you, I am often wearing many hats and dealing with whatever comes up on any given day. It is rare that any two days are the same!

WHAT NATURAL DEODORANT PRODUCT MAKES YOU MOST PROUD?

To be quite honest, all of our products make me proud. Whilst we have managed to create a product that does it’s job of being an effective deodorant, we also do this while using all natural ingredients and fully recyclable materials in our packing.

However one of the unexpected by-products of our business is that through our relationship with the breast cancer awareness charity Coppafeel we frequently get messages from customers who, through applying our products, found lumps so they are then able to get checked out early.

WHAT IS YOUR DAILY BEAUTY OR SKINCARE ROUTINE?

I’m very simple when it comes to skincare and just try to ensure I moisturise regularly.

Our goals at this stage are to keep growing our reach and expand the business into more countries throughout the world so that more people can experience our products.
